What We're Looking For:

We are seeking an experienced full-stack or backend engineer to participate in all stages of the product development and deployment lifecycle. As a key member of our small development team, you will collaborate closely with others to build out our team, process, and tech stack as we grow our business and technology.

In this role, you’ll work from our New York City office in Soho Manhattan, 3+ days/week.

Projects We've Tackled In The Past:

  • Developed workflow solutions from the ground up, enabling agents to create and edit property listings across multiple real estate markets.
  • Created an interface that allows users to export custom reports for their clients, with options to choose the information and display format.
  • Engineered an advanced search and filter system, enabling users to find apartments and analyze the most accurate real-estate dataset in New York.
  • Implemented blazing-fast real-time analytics on the property market using Elastic Search.

What You'll Work On:

  • Develop new client-facing features and interfaces.
  • Autonomously drive large, complex projects from technical design to launch.
  • Strategize and plan large-scale projects.
  • Tackle complex architecture challenges, apply architectural standards, and integrate them into new projects.
  • Mature our existing tech platform to scale with our future growth plans.
  • Help define a healthy and effective development culture that balances speed with future planning.
  • Be a role model for thorough, meaningful code reviews.
  • Take ownership of QA and release cycles as part of a you-build-it-you-run-it practice.

Required For This Role:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in software development.
  • 1+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Experience with front-end development frameworks, with a preference for React and Backbone.
  • Past experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
  • Appreciation for and ability to create simple and beautiful UI.
  • A mindset that questions assumptions, experiments with new technologies, and enjoys developing reliable and maintainable systems.

Bonus Points For:

  • Expertise with RESTful APIs, particularly OData-compliant services.
  • Experience working with omnichannel communication APIs, such as Twilio's APIs.

Salary Range:

The compensation for this position is $115K-$150K base salary, plus equity and benefits.

Our ranges are based on function and level, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including skills, job-related knowledge, and depth of work experience.
