The Role:

We are in search of a Senior Frontend Software Engineer who excels in problem-solving, thrives in collaborative environments, and values meticulously crafted and tested code. As a Frontend Engineer with us, you’ll collaborate with diverse teams and individuals, not limited to engineers, to achieve common goals. Your role will involve delving deep into our current processes, optimizing them as you grow within the position. Joining us at this early stage means wielding significant influence over the direction of our endeavors.

As a pivotal member of our Commerce team, you will spearhead the development of a groundbreaking social commerce product for our platform. This role offers the opportunity to shape and build a product from its inception, as we are a startup within a startup.

What You'll Own:

  • Take ownership of projects and drive them from concept to implementation, embodying strong product instincts.
  • Lead collaborative efforts across teams to evolve our frontend architecture, ensuring industry-leading performance benchmarks for our users.
  • Design and implement efficient workflows to facilitate the rapid delivery of high-quality software.
  • Utilize our tech stack, primarily React and React Native for front ends, NodeJS for backends, all written with Typescript. Additional technologies include MySQL, Postgres, AWS services (DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS, CDK, Glue, Firehose, EventBridge), Snowflake, and a Symfony + Doctrine PHP monolith with Twig templates.
  • Ensure the functionality, elegance, performance, and mobile responsiveness of components.
  • Champion UI testing practices.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers across different time zones to drive effective execution towards ambitious goals.
  • Work in cross-functional teams with genuine ownership over end-to-end problem-solving.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years of React experience.
  • Ability to maintain core applications and uphold their development standards.
  • Proficiency in balancing quality with the demands of fast-paced product cycles.
  • Comfortable designing and implementing full-stack solutions to support frontend objectives.
  • Experience with component libraries or collaboration with design teams in user-facing applications.
  • Deep understanding of frontend architecture and data-driven development.
  • Interest in microservices and microfrontends.
  • A passion for assisting teammates and users alike.
