About the Role:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

• Develop a deep understanding of various business areas, such as architecture and infrastructure, to drive our business objectives forward.
• Craft exceptional end-to-end APIs and developer experiences, prioritizing reliability and scalability.
• Leverage your expertise to architect scalable services and craft new APIs while enhancing existing ones using technologies like Node.js, Express.js, Mongo, GraphQL, Apollo, and AWS Lambda.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software engineers, product managers, designers, and QA analysts within a supportive and autonomous environment.
• Tackle complex technical challenges within a platform that empowers countless individuals worldwide.
• Enhance planning, development, and deployment processes to optimize team efficiency and effectiveness.
• Mentor and inspire a team of engineers across different levels of expertise.

About You:

You will excel in this role if you possess:

• 5+ years of experience in developing and deploying web applications, with a proven track record of delivering products to market.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience navigating complex issues requiring in-depth knowledge of company operations and existing architecture.
• Proficiency in debugging production issues across various services and layers of the tech stack.
• A sense of ownership and a drive to deliver projects with tangible business impact.
• Demonstrated expertise in building complex web systems.
• Familiarity with one or more JavaScript type systems (e.g., Flow).
• Comfort working in an agile environment conducive to experimentation and learning.
