About You
You are an infrastructure engineer with a strong background in security and platform engineering/devops, who values autonomy and self-direction. You have experience in monitoring and hardening infrastructure in AWS, as well as setting up security tooling in AWS or other cloud providers. You enjoy collaborating with others and working independently to achieve your goals.
About the Job
As a security-focused engineer, you will join the distributed platform engineering team. Collaborating with the CISO, the platform engineering team, and software engineers, you will create systems to monitor and enhance security, develop guardrails for safe and secure system creation and deployment, and continuously improve the security posture of the AWS infrastructure.
You will have a significant role in determining security priorities and enhancing the company's security posture.
Responsibilities
- Configure AWS services following best-practice approaches to ensure system security
- Review and improve production security architecture
- Develop systems to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations
- Advise engineering teams on developing and deploying secure systems
- Maintain and enhance security monitoring and alerts
- Enhance and respond to automated scanning utilities
- Respond to security incidents
- Assist with SOC2 and ISO27001 security audits
Requirements
You will be successful in this role if you:
- Have at least 3 years of experience as a security professional
- Have at least 3 years of experience hardening infrastructure in Amazon Web Services
- Have experience setting up and maintaining security platforms, SIEMs, and monitoring systems
- Have worked at a high-traffic website with highly available and robust systems
- Quickly pick up new ideas and technologies, enjoy learning, and discussing them with others

- Can work independently
