Staff Software Engineer, Bot Management and Anti-Fraud

We are seeking a technical leader with experience in developing and enhancing bot management and anti-fraud capabilities. You will support the Security Product Engineering Organization to develop foundational technologies that power existing and future bot-management and DDoS mitigation products. You will have the autonomy and support to experiment, improve, and ultimately define the future of the systems you are responsible for. As a Security Product Engineering leader, you will provide mentorship and help shape patterns, standards, and methodologies for the entire department.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop, test, and maintain bot management and DDoS mitigation capabilities built on a globally distributed system.
  • Collaborate with peers and product managers to identify and prioritize forward-looking bot-management, DDoS mitigation, and related product features.
  • Steer security product architecture collaboratively.
  • Integrate these capabilities tightly with other systems.
  • Mentor teams in everything from data analysis to solving complex code issues.
  • Anticipate the functionality, scalability, and performance needs of Security Product Engineering teams.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 6 years of software development experience with at least 2 years focused on coding primarily in Rust or Go, as well as experience with JavaScript.
  • Proven technical leadership for highly scalable, reliable software systems.
  • Successful collaboration with product development teams to deliver complex software products to market.
  • Deep understanding of adversarial traffic classification, mitigation techniques, and associated ecosystems.
  • Experience working with customer security operations teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience developing bot management or DDoS mitigation technology.
  • Operational experience in bot-management or DDoS mitigation: data analysis, developing stream processing tools, and automating preventative measures.
  • Understanding of the challenges involved in using, building, operating, and maintaining scalable and reliable distributed security systems.

Work Hours:

  • Availability during core business hours.

Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements:

  • Preferred office locations: San Francisco, New York City, Denver.
  • Hybrid work model allowing flexibility to split time between the office and home.
  • Travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.

Salary:

  • Estimated salary range: $181,220 to $226,520.
  • Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
  • Eligible to participate in equity and discretionary bonus programs.
