About Us We are a pioneering fintech platform transforming the $500 billion U.S. higher education payments industry by addressing the complexities of the tuition payment process for students and accounts receivables for universities. Our goal is to revolutionize the student financial experience, similar to how other major platforms have transformed their respective industries, by bringing the entire student financial experience online.

Our mission is simple: Empower students financially and improve economic mobility through higher education. We are building an ambitious, tenacious, and creative team unafraid of tackling new challenges. Our founders are former leaders at notable companies, and we are backed by prominent investors.

We offer a rapidly scaling tech start-up environment dedicated to our employees, culture, and customers with constant iteration and improvement.

Overview We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our existing team of 4 engineers to develop an end-to-end student financial services platform. This is a unique opportunity to become an early member of an exciting high-growth technology startup and help build it from the ground up. You will design, build, and operate software to redefine the student financial experience within a historically analog industry.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be expected to scope entire projects and lead them from start to finish. You’ll work collaboratively with the rest of the engineering team and independently as needed.

You will drive key decisions about the technologies, tools, and best practices we adopt into our engineering culture to deliver the best experience possible for our partners while ensuring high standards of code quality and system reliability.

About You

  • You have 5+ years of experience with software development in a team environment in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Ruby).
  • You have a deep respect for the challenges associated with operating a large-scale system in production, and your designs and implementations reflect that understanding.
  • You have strong opinions about monitoring and observability. An application is not done until you can see what it does in production!
  • You are a Node.JS enthusiast, eager to build commercial applications in TypeScript.
  • You have years of experience with one of the major JavaScript frontend libraries, such as React, Angular, and/or Vue, and have strong opinions on the state management in the frontend.
  • You’re not afraid to define a brand-new category of software offering, requiring the right balance of operational flexibility and operational excellence.
  • You’re willing and able to roll up your sleeves and take on whatever technical challenge we might need to solve, anywhere in our stack.
  • You know the modern technical stack from the network up and are incredibly grateful that you can programmatically control all of it thanks to AWS, Azure, or Google.
  • You have a general interest in higher education and financial services.
