Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic technical leadership, mentoring, and direction to a team of software development professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Optimize resource allocation and enhance team efficiency to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality solutions within project scope.
- Spearhead initiatives for continuous improvement, leveraging data-driven insights and leading projects aimed at enhancing productivity and operational excellence.
- Oversee and report on key operational metrics and status, including queue management, resource utilization, risk assessment, and project initiatives.
- Drive timely and decisive decision-making to propel the team towards achieving both immediate and long-term roadmap objectives.
- Lead change management efforts, devising strategies to streamline engineering processes and enhance organizational agility.
- Foster a culture of learning and development within the team, ensuring proficiency in the latest programming languages, industry standards, and software development methodologies.
- Take ownership of financial budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and adherence to financial targets.
- Flexibility to be available outside of standard business hours as part of a rotational on-call schedule.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in software development.
- At least 3 years of experience in managing large, complex projects.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the greater KC Metro area.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in leading technical teams.
- Proficiency in full lifecycle development and Agile methodologies.
Preferred:
- Experience in designing and operating secure, scalable web and mobile applications, as well as large-scale distributed systems utilizing service-oriented and message queue architectures in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-based SaaS architectures, including designing elastic solutions, distributed state, availability, and scalability.
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles.
- Strong analytical, design, and troubleshooting skills.
